Arno Immelmann
Head of Business - South Africa
Arno has more than 20 years of experience in the international wood products industry with strong background in wood processing, procurement and markets. He has worked in demanding processing and sales roles in the wood products industry including sawmilling, sliced veneer, plywood and wood market studies. The processing roles included the direct management of three large sawmills and a veneer slicing plant which involved production planning, engineering maintenance, process improvement, capex planning and overall people and cost management.
With his background in processing and strong market knowledge, he developed sales and marketing strategies for various companies and created additional global markets. He has worked in South Africa as well as various other African countries including Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, DRC and Rwanda. He was a key project member at a recent plywood feasibility project in Africa.
Arno lives in the western cape in South Africa and holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Wood Science as well as a Diploma in Project management.
